Abstract: In order to developing a methodology evaluating the alimentary security of transgenic products, it has been done a ninety-days study using thirty-two BALB/c mice aging 6 to 8 weeks, where transgenic with Cry1Ab, an insecticide protein against Lepidoptera bugs was used. The animals were divided in four groups of eight; and received control diet (0%), 10% transgenic corn diets (10%), 30% transgenic corn diets (30%), and the endotoxin from Cry1Ab, commercially used for spraying the crops (Cry1Ab). The hematological results did not presented alterations. The biochemical and histo-pathological data indicate that has been hepatic injuries in the mice fed with the Cry1Ab protein, 10% and 30% transgenic corn diets, when compared with the control groups.
