Abstract: Our written response to József Kiss and colleagues (2007) on environmental risk analysis, based on which the guest editor concluded that other insects such as corn maize are not endangered by the genetically modified GM crop. On the other hand, we can only agree on the case-by-case assessment of GM plants, as the properties of each variety group with environmental consequences differ greatly. Not only do environmental sciences criticize first generation GM crops, but also other natural and social sciences (Figure 1). Within the natural sciences, molecular and population genetics, and dietetics have formulated the arguments to be considered, beyond environmental sciences.
