Abstract: Genetically modified organisms (transgenes) are increasingly being used in biology and medicine for genetic research (genetic engineering), vaccines, hormones, enzymes, and for modeling a variety of ailments, as well as commercial purposes. However, the use of genetically modified food is accompanied by significant risks to human and animal health. This paper presents a general overview for pathobiological effects of genetically modified organisms on animal and human health.
