Abstract:
The influence of addition of genetically modified (GM) soybeans during 2 and 6 months to the standard diet of Wistar female rats on metabolic processes and histological condition of kidney was studied. It was established that the consumption of GM-soybeans during 2 months didn’t cause changes in metabolism of kidney. The consumption of GM-soybeans during 6 months led to the development of metabolic changes such as decreased albumin and total proteins level and elevated urea and creatinine levels in blood serum, decreased concentration of ATP and glycogen in kidney. Intake of GM-soybeans causes histological changes in kidney: development of glomerulonephritis and tubulointerstitial nephritis. The descendents of rats have signs of intrauterine influence on kidney genesis and pathological changes are developed faster.
