Ecotoxicological assessment of Roundup-ready soybean agriculture investigated in a D. magna model
Abstract: Transgenic glyphosate tolerant soybeans are constituents of an industrial production system with specific agricultural practices and supplementary agrochemicals as interwoven additional elements. Thus the material produced should not be seen as an isolated product of a specific modified genotype but rather as a product of a tailored agriculture system. This globally dominant crop has …
Safety assessment of Roundup ready soybean
Abstract: This article summarises data about glyphosate-tolerant (“Roundup ready”) genetically modified soybean influence on animals’ organism. The influence of herbicide glyphosate on the organism of plants and animals, which is widely used herbicide in agriculture in the most countries of the world, is considered. Each year, the use of “Roundup” herbicide increases, as weeds become …
Glyphosate-residues in roundup-ready soybean impair Daphnia magna life-cycle
Abstract: Herbicide tolerant plants such as Roundup-Ready soybean contain residues of glyphosate herbicide. These residues are considered safe and previous animal-feeding-studies have failed to find negative effects related to such chemical residues. The present study tests 8 experimental soy- meal diets as feed in groups (each containing 20 individuals) of test-animals (D. magna). The diets …
Import of genetically modified soybeans (Roundup Ready) impact on the Yoshitomi tilapia growth and physiology
Keywords: blood physiological, biochemical indexes, genetically modified soybean, growth, tilapia, Roundup Ready soy, white blood cell, platelet, fish, glyphosate tolerant soy, GMO soy Citation: Ran, M.T., Lei, W. and Keyong, J., 2009. Detection of transgenic DNA in tilapias (Oreochromis niloticus, GIFT strain) fed genetically modified soybeans (Roundup Ready)
Abstract: We used nested‐polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect Roundup Ready soybean in aquatic feeds and feeding tilapias. A template concentration of 10−10 g μL−1 DNA solution could be detected with a dilute degree of 0.01%. Most (90.6%) of the aquatic feeds containing soybean byproduct included exogenous DNA segments. We also compared genetically modified (GM) …
Investigation on genetically modified soybean (RoundUp Ready) in goat nutrition: DNA detection in suckling kids
Abstract: The presence of plant DNA fragments in blood, kidney, hearth, liver, spleen and muscle tissue from suckling kids was investigated by using PCR approach. Fragments of high copy number chloroplast and low copy soybean lectin genes were found in several samples of kids whose mother were fed diet containing conventional (control) or transgenic soybean …

Hazard as to the use roundup resistant transgenic soybean food products of people
Abstract: Research purpose. Examine under conditions in vitro effect of aqueous extract of GM roundup resistant soybean compared with soy classical breeding activity propionic acid bacteria are used in starters in the manufacture of hard cheeses with a long shelf life, and the use of transgenic soybeans in feeding chicks and laying hens with the …
Detection of RNA variants transcribed from the transgene in Roundup Ready soybean
Abstract: The acreage for genetically modified crops (GMOs)—particularly soybean—has steadily increased since 1996, when the first crop of Roundup Ready soybean (intended for food production) was grown. The Roundup Ready soybean varieties derive from a soybean line into which a glyphosate-resistant enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate-synthase (EPSPS) gene was introduced. The inserted and the flanking regions in Roundup Ready soybean …
Review of GMO safety assessment studies: Glyphosate residues in Roundup Ready crops is an ignored issue
Abstract: Background. Genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant cultivar varieties have been a commercial success widely known as Roundup Ready plants. As new glyphosate-tolerant varieties are introduced to satisfy agriculture demand, it is relevant to review the scientific evidence that documents the quality and safety of such biotechnology. Assessments of genetically modified glyphosate-tolerant plants are partly based on …
